Teen Volunteer Sign-up

Teen Volunteer Opportunities
Redondo Beach Public Library is always looking for teen volunteers to help out with everyday tasks, throughout the summer, to work some of our fun events like the Haunted Library and Summer Reading Program Carnival, or finally to help plan and coordinate teen-run programming as part of our Teen Advisory Council

Please note that teen volunteers must have completed the 5th Grade, and either currently enrolled in 6th Grade, or starting 6th grade in the Fall.

Teen Advisory Council
Do you need volunteer hours?  Students in 6th through 12th grade are invited to join the Teen Advisory Council (TAC)!  TAC meets for one hour on the first Wednesday of the month starting in September through May.  We value your input on the kind of teen events you'd like to see in the library as well as book, music and movie suggestions to add to our collection.  You may also help with displays and children's programming.  It's a great way to bond with other fun teens while helping out at the library.  We prefer that you turn in your application by Friday, September 27, 2024.

Haunted Library
On a Saturday in mid-October, we are hosting a teen-run haunted house for kids in the children's section of the Redondo Beach Main Library.  Your help is essential!  We need help during the summer as well as in September and early October to help make props for elements such as the graveyard, creepy carnival scare zone, witches scare zone (monster books and spell books) and more.  On the day of the event, we will convert the bookshelves into a creepy maze.  You may volunteer at the prep meetings without committing to working the Saturday event, although we also need teens to staff the event.  You may sign up for a Haunted Library prep meeting once they are listed on the Volgistics volunteer scheduling page.

Any questions regarding our volunteer offerings can be answered at the Youth Services Department (310) 318-0675 Option #4
